As a special education teacher Judith was voted Teacher of the Year by her peers three of the four years she taught at Moreland Elementary.

She has been president of her state professional association and was School Psychologist of the Year for South Dakota in 2001.

Judith Kennedy, Ed. S., is a Certified School Psychologist and Life Coach. Her training and experience have led her to speak locally and nationally on such diverse topics as parenting, preventing violence, developing social skills, addictions and how they affect families and individuals, and preventing and treating trauma.
Trained by National Trauma Treatment Network, Judith was Team Leader for the Child Trauma and Treatment Network from 2002 until 2006. In this capacity Judith evaluated children for trauma effects, trained other mental health professionals on identifying and treating trauma, and spearheaded the Crisis Response Team for the local school districts. Judith is recognized as an expert witness and has testified many times in court on behalf of children.

Judith holds License Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - Qualified Mental Health Provider. She has over forty years experience in the fields of mental health and education, and her interest and focus has always been on prevention and safety; both educationally and behaviorally.

She is an award-winning author of the social skills curriculum, Getting to Know You, which is based on research demonstrating that the use of this curriculum in schools can decrease violence by over 75%. She is asked to speak frequently on communication between individuals and in families, addictions and how they affect individuals and families, and the effects of trauma and ways to overcome trauma effects.
